An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
