I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
